Let’s make this easy, shall we? | August 31, 2009 | Comments (6)

CONFESSION: We spent our Sunday yesterday at the first ever Eat Real Festival in Oakland’s Jack London Square, just a few blocks from where we lived a few months ago! It had me all wistful about the years I’ve spent living there, with and without my tomboy – so much happens over the course of an entire decade, and Oakland (as well as the many incredible folks who have lived or live there still) helped shape who I am today. Stay tuned for an upcoming blog post with my brand new Oaklandish t-shirt!
In the meantime, here are some fun photos from the event. Maybe next year we’ll see you there!
PS. How adorable are these little commemorative drinking jars!?
PPS. At some point during the day, M called it quits on the booze. We each got 4 tickets, good for any 4 jars of beer we wanted to try. She grew tired of having to run to the loo, but I, I have the bladder of a viking! I double-fisted it on behalf of M, who ended up sneaking baby sips to continue the tastings. Between the two of us and a couple of work colleagues, I estimate that we tried well over half the menu of over 40 microbrews!
