CONFESSION: M & I went to our very first Dias de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) procession in San Francisco’s Mission District tonight. We were very excited! While the event had an entertaining procession through dark streets in our not-so-new ‘hood, so many beautiful and touching altars, and of course lots of folks all dressed up, it seems to have attracted…undesirables as well. Let’s face it: they’re attention whores in dire need of prescription-strength deodorant, they ruin EVERYTHING and I’ve kind of grown to hate them.
Still, we salvaged the rest of the evening with traditional sugar candy skulls and a slew of Mexican breads to nibble on at home (maybe with Mexican hot chocolate – that’s a good idea!), and it was a glorious night with unusually warm weather to be out and about, so I’m glad we were. Such a big old full moon!
Since my olfactory senses have clearly been abused enough for one week, I’m abstaining from a scent review tonight. Forgive me, and enjoy what few pictures I caught before my bloody battery died!
