CONFESSION: I’ve been really feeling Wear Palettes lately. As ever, I’m probably a late bloomer on this but it’s such a great, lazy way to get motivated with your wardrobe and figure out ways to hit all the tones in the daily palettes through creative means like lipstick, actual metals in jewelry, etc. In addition to actual clothes and footwear and bigger, less subtle accessories. I like that they’ve broken out the palettes between street wear, plants and celebs, but I do wish that they created palettes from other sources.

We were walking around the other day and something caught M’s eye, for example, and she exclaimed “That! That should be on one of your palette thingees!” It was food-related, I think. (Super lesbian, I know. Shut up!) When I saw this one I loved it for the strong earthiness, hence the title of this post!

Tell me what you think in the comments:

Ooh, the palettes thing is pretty cool. I don’t think my wardrobe is diverse enough for me to do that. I have black, various shades of blue, grey, and touches of dark green and plum. And jeans. And like one red cardigan. I have a fear of bright colors.

Ooh, this palette is super pretty: http://blog.wearpalettes.com/2009/11/youre-still-very-loveable.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+wearpalettesnew+%28Wear+Palettes%29 And there’s a cute boy.

I should possibly not post blog comments while tipsy. Hmm.

@cate3710: Your wardrobe sounds muted and awesome! You could always take the plunge and mix colors you don’t generally mix! The cerulean blues are lovely, I agree. You can keep that boy all to your tipsy self, so long as I can steal his coat – the cuffs on those sleeves are exquisite!

    love love love the outfit!
I like the palette idea. Just the other day I was thinking about dressing according to palette, but I hadn’t heard of Wear Palettes — I was actually thinking of using adobe kuler. Haha. I think that makes me a bit of a geek.
